Position:              After School Art Teacher
Reports to:         Director of School Age Programs    
Position Status: Part-time
Overall Responsibility:  Lead visual arts activities that integrate academics with personal enrichment during after school program hours.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Organize and implement art activities for youth in Kindergarten through Grade 2.
  • Ensure activities are aligned with district curriculum standards.
  • Assess students’ needs and interests.
  • Prepare lesson plans, activities, and classroom resources.
  • Ensure that students are engaged in the program
  • Utilize positive behavior support strategies in matters of discipline
  • Evaluate students' progress in order to see where improvements can be made.
  • Help each youth achieve the desired outcomes related to program goals.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with the youth and act as a positive role model at all times.

Qualifications

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to relate to people of all ages, races, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with afterschool education and leveled reading programs preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Background that indicates a working knowledge of youth development and programming
  • Experience that indicates a commitment to viewing youth from an asset development approach

United Arts Council: Seeking volunteers with an interest in the arts. Assistance at fund-raising events. Office volunteers (9-5 weekdays) for answering phones, assisting with mailings and data entry. The Conservancy of Southwest Florida needs volunteers!!!!  Our success depends on recruiting and training many more volunteers skilled in dealing with visitors to assist at the Conservancy Nature Center, especially our “Guest Services” team – greeters, admissions, guest services desk, Nature Store sales, docents, dock masters and boat captains.  It only requires four hours a week.   For additional information please click here.

The Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples is now recruiting volunteers!!!!  If you have a love for children and the time to donate, we want to hear from you.  In order to become a volunteer at the museum you must:  Have time to commit to a minimum of a 4 hour shift weekly, work one night a month for special events or be on an on-call list.  An interview for a position will be conducted and each volunteer will go through a background check procedure.  All volunteers will receive a shirt and badge.  $50 is asked for the cost of the background check, shirt and badge.  To apply, please go to www.cmon.org, , click on  “Get Involved” then scroll down to “volunteer”.  In this section you can print/download an application.
