Gulfshore Playhouse to Hold Auditions for In Flight

AUDITIONS: Gulfshore Playhouse, Naples’ premiere professional theatre, seeks non-Equity male actor (20’s-40’s) to perform multiple roles in its touring education play In Flight: The Story of Sabine van Dam, based on the story of a local Holocaust survivor. Rehearsal : mid-September – mid-October (2017), evenings and weekends. There will be 2-3 performances a month from late October – May.  Actor is paid for rehearsal period and for performances. Roles are available for men, women, and children, and all ethnicities are welcome to audition.  Principal and supporting roles include: Kris Kringle (Santa Claus), ability to grow a beard is a plus; Doris the Personnel Manager at Macy’s and mother to Susan; Susan g/youth, Doris’ daughter, precocious, doesn’t believe in Santa; Fred the lawyer, neighbor, and friend to Doris and Susan; Shellhammer, Assistant to Doris; Judge Harper, Presides over Kringle’s hearing; Dr. Pierce, physician at Maplewood Home.  Several character roles for men, women, and children also available.

A Holiday tradition. Based on the movie of the same name, Miracle On 34th Street features a book and score by Meredith Willson. Single mother Doris Walker doesn’t want her six-year-old’s head filled with romantic notions. Their neighbor Fred Gailey tries to woo Doris by taking her daughter to see Santa Claus at Macy’s. Doris is not impressed, but when it turns out Macy’s Santa may in fact be the real Kris Kringle, a wave of love spreads across New York City that melts even the most cynical of hearts.
