Rookery Bay Annual Photography Exhibit

Friends of Rookery Bay (FORB) and the United Arts Council of Collier County (UAC) are seeking submissions from Florida residence for their annual photography exhibit at the Rookery Bay Environmental Learning Center in Naples, Florida. Rookery Bay is part of the National Estuarine Research Reserve located at 300 Tower Rd., Naples, FL 34113.

Exhibit Dates: February 6, 2018 – March 28, 2018
Entry Deadline: December 4th at 4 p.m.
Notification of chosen works: December 19, 2017 by 4 p.m.
Chosen artists deliver work: February 1 & 2, 2018 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Installation: February 5, 2018
Reception: February 8, 2018 5:30 – 7 p.m.
Chosen artists pick up work: March 29 & 30, 2018 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

The 52nd Founders Juried Awards Exhibition
Naples Art Association

The 52nd Founders Juried Awards Exhibition is a contemporary art exhibition open to 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional artwork by artists residing in the United States. Founders exhibitions are a long-held tradition honoring the artists who came together in 1954 to create the Naples Art Association, the first non-profit visual arts organization in Collier County, Florida. Founders exhibitions serve as a platform for local artists to share the spotlight with their peers at the national level. For artists from outside Florida, Founders exhibitions provide the opportunity to demonstrate success, compete for cash prizes totaling $3,500 and exhibit their art in Naples, Florida.

Annual All Florida Juried Exhibit
The Alliance for the Arts

Entry Deadline: April 29, 2017
Reception March 9 from 5 – 7 p.m.

This is the Alliance’s longest running exhibition and features pieces created by artists working in a wide variety of media from all over the state of Florida. Categories for entry are sculpture, painting (including oil, acrylic, collage, water color and mixed media), photography, prints and drawing.  An entry may consist of 1 to 3 artworks.
The juror, Mark Ormond, will be on hand to present awards including $1,000 cash for Best In Show, a 2nd Place $250 gift certificate for Golden Paints, $100 cash for 3rd place and Jurors Choice Award(s) of Alliance for the Arts membership(s).

McKee Botanical Garden

In January 2019, McKee will open a near one-acre Children’s Garden to appeal to our younger visitors, designed specifically for those ages 3-9 years old. The mission of the Children’s Garden at McKee is to create a fun and whimsical outdoor destination that inspires imagination and curiosity in children through interaction, education and exploration. The Children’s Garden at McKee will nurture a powerful bond between children and nature. In keeping with that mission, three specific sculpture groupings have been incorporated into the design for the Children’s Garden at McKee.

Collier County Government Center

This fall, Collier County will once again display a rotating exhibit of local artists’ and photographers’ work in the Board of County Commissioners chambers, third floor, Collier County Government Center, 3299 Tamiami Trail E., Naples, Florida 34112.
Those interested in being considered must submit a brief letter of interest describing their level of expertise, training and experience along with digital images of seven art pieces proposed to display. All of this should be submitted to Mike Sheffield, director of the County’s Communication and Customer Relations Division (michaelsheffield@colliergov.net).
Artists must be residents of Collier County, at least on a part-time basis. The artwork must be appropriate imagery for a public space and should have a broad appeal to people of all ages, backgrounds and cultures.
