Teaching Artists Wanted!
Are you interested in teaching after-school arts classes?
The United Arts Council is seeking artists and arts educators in all disciplines who want to work with at-risk children, primarily in the elementary grades (K-5), during the school year. Some opportunities exist at the middle and high school levels, too. We are looking for artists who can enrich creative learning activities with content from other subjects, such as math, science, literature, language arts and social studies.
Artists should have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to school sites in distant parts of the county, such as Immokalee or Everglades City. Artists are independent contractors and paid good hourly rates. A college degree is strongly recommended but not required, and artists must pass background screening and reference checks. Previous teaching experience is a big plus.
